Biography

Dr. Barbara Sorrels, the presenter of ECE Leaders: Connect, Inspire & Empower Teachers Through Personal “Sticky Notes Storytelling”,  is Executive Director of The Institute for Childhood Education, a private professional development and consulting firm for early childhood professionals. Dr. Sorrels holds a B.A. in early childhood education from the University of Maryland; a master’s degree in education from Southwestern Seminary; and a doctorate in early childhood from Oklahoma State University. Dr. Sorrels has worked in the field of early childhood education for over 35 years in a variety of settings and capacities, including classroom teacher, care giver, child care owner and director, and university professor. She founded and directed two early childhood centers in Washington D.C. and Ft. Worth Texas.
