Biography

Brian Puerling the presenter of DAP + Tech in Early Childhood Classrooms: Best Practice Looks Like This, is a graduate of the Erikson Institute and a preschool teacher in the Chicago Public Schools. In his classroom, he enjoys findings new ways for his children to learn through technology. He seeks to learn about new and innovative inquiry teaching practices by utilizing local early childhood initiatives such as Kohl Early Childhood Connection Project and the Erikson Early Math Project. Brian was a recipient of the PBS Innovative Educator Award and PBS Teacher’s Choice Award in 2010. He is currently working with Redleaf Press to write a book on thoughtful and authentic use of today’s technology in classrooms prek-1st grade.
